A Dozen Facts about the Future. Are they true? by William Hogarty

Technology will continue to disrupt traditional industries.

Uber is just a software tool, they don’t own any cars, and are now the biggest taxi company in the world.

Airbnb is now the biggest hotel company in the world, yet doesn’t own any property.

By 2020, 70% of all human beings will own smart phones, meaning everyone has the same access to world class information.

70%-80% of all jobs will disappear in next 20 years

$100 agricultural robot is coming. By 2020 an app will tell if you are lying by facial expression.

90% fewer lawyers in the future, by 2030 computers will surpass human intelligence.

2020 the auto industry will be disrupted, you won’t own a car, you will call for a car, our kids won’t get drivers licenses and 90% fewer cars mean more parks in cities.

Car companies will pivot or go bankrupt, traditional companies will “try,” yet technology companies will build a computer on wheels (Google and Apple)

Auto insurance companies will have major adjustments, no accidents means much lower rates, the revenue and business model will disappear.

Electric cars will go mainstream by 2020. Solar energy will take over the grid. Desalination of salt water will solve many drought issues.

3D printing; the cheapest 3D printer was $18,000 but is now down to $400 and prints 100 times faster.  This year’s smart phones will have 3d scanning. You will soon print your perfect shoes. By 2027 10% of everything produced will be by a 3d printer.

Our hope, in all this rapidly moving technology, is that we take hold and solve obesity!
